TAU/NYU Collaboration

A research collaboration headed by the Edmond de Rothschild foundation (IL) New York
University, Tel Aviv University, and the Israel Antiquities Authority.

The Caesarea Maritima Project creates, for the first time, a research collaboration headed by the Edmond de Rothschild Foundation (IL) between New York University (NYU), Tel Aviv University, and the Israel Antiquities Authority (IAA).
The project, based on an academic-scientific investigation of Caesarea that employed advanced research methodologies, enables each institution to bring its singular added value to a broad research project in Caesarea.

Students and scholars from the US, will come to Israel, to work together with students and scholars from Tel Aviv University and experts from the IAA. The Project results, integrating a wide range of fields connected to Caesarea, will be manifested in a variety of research projects, publications, conferences, and exhibitions in Israel and abroad.

A local steering committee representing the three partner institutes and the Edmond de Rothschild Foundation, and an international steering committee of experts, accompany the research project.

As part of the project, a digital database of the Caesarea excavations will be established for the benefit of the studies, serving researchers from the partner institutions, as well as others throughout the world.
