As Product Owner of 2~3 FTTX Scrum Teams, you will be responsible for working with other FTTX POs to translate Product Management Feature priorities into realizable, value-added software capabilities. Harmonic R&D operates in a modified Scaled Agile Framework (SAFE®) work-flow with regular Program Increments, 2-week Iterations (sprints), and Continuous Integration on a shared, common base of software.
Daily interaction with Scrum Masters and Team Members (Developers, QA, and Automation engineers) is expected to ensure work is understood (clear requirements / acceptance criteria / definition of done), planned (user stories / workbreakdown) into manageable Sprints that are organized into individual team Epics, defined (described in high level understandable written Confluence pages that are shared with, reviewed, and validated by other engineers on the individual and extended FTTX development and testing teams), implemented & verified using Harmonic or industry known best practices, and delivered as complete end-to-end features, bug fixes, or demonstratable PoCs to System Team QA for final validation & scale verification. The PO will be part classic Product Owner and part mentor to Scrum Team.
Ongoing and regular backlog grooming, elaboration, and planning with POs and PMs leading towards periodic Program Increment planning, prioritization, and estimation for individual Scrum Team deliverables.
Working to improve the technical domain knowledge for individual Scrum Teams based on assignment, formal and adhoc training, to ensure Harmonic solutions deliver best-in-class capabilities & quality in a timely and predictable manner.10 years of experience in direct software development in a Telecom or Cable Broadband Access networking product.
Experience as a Product Owner and/Architect
Specific knowledge of PON technology, standards and customer use cases is necessary to guide Scrum Teams when translating & elaborating on Product Management requirements into value-added software capabilities. Experience with ITU-T PON preferred.
Hands-on competence with state-of-the-practice work-flow management, bug tracking, configuration management, and Office tools.
Experience in software team management – advantage.
Knowledge, appreciation, and application of traditional Software Development methodologies and Life Cycle Models (SLDC) in addition to methods commonly associated with Agile practices is expected.
